The lack of situational hitting along with 3 unearned runs did us in. Jared Asch threw well and kept the game close but 5 errors are a lot to comeback from. Coach Jimmy Wendt said it best today, “ Beacon played bad but we played worse”. We need to comeback Friday boys and take this one!!!!! [Adapted from GameChanger] Late Score Costs Stuyvesant Against The Beacon School Stuyvesant lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat to Beacon on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with The beacon school batting in the top of the seventh when Jenkins doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Beacon took an early lead in the second inning. Garrett Ramos drove in one when he singled. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Stuyvesant tied things up at four. An error scored one run for the Peglegs. Stuyvesant tallied three runs in the sixth inning. Cooper Nissenbaum and Max Onderdonk powered the big inning with RBIs. Bogosian earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Beacon. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one. Jared Asch got the start for Stuyvesant. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out three and walking one. Matthew Deutsch threw one and one-third innings in relief. Nissenbaum, Khyber Sen, Franklin Liou, Simon Carmody, and Onderdonk all had one hit to lead Stuyvesant.
