Outstanding pitching by Malcolm Hubbell for his first Stuyvesant win. Malcolm gave up 1 unearned run on 2 hits and 49 pitches in the 5 inning mercy. Malcolm also added a triple into the left centerfield gap. Jeremy Rubin and Max Onderdonk both had a multi- hit game. Max stole 4 bases on the day. Good base running and key hits were the dominant factor in today’s game. Congrats guys. Let do it again tomorrow and go into the break 3-0. [Adapted from GameChanger] Stuyvesant PEGLEGS Varsity Defeats West 50th Street Campus In A Blow-Out Victory Stuyvesant had no trouble on offense today, winning big over West 50th street campus 11-1. The Peglegs got on the board in the first inning when a wild pitch allowed Max Onderdonk to score from third. Jeremy Rubin followed up with a single, driving in Michael Gillow. Simon Carmody drove in Franklin Liou, also with a single. In the second inning, Stuyvesant put up five runs, on RBIs from Onderdonk, Rubin, Malcolm Hubbell, and Jared Asch. Hubbell got the win for Stuyvesant. He surrendered one run on two hits over five innings, striking out four and walking zero. Stuyvesant tallied eight hits on the day. Onderdonk and Rubin all managed multiple hits. Onderdonk went 3-for-4 at the plate. The Peglegs stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Onderdonk led the way with four.
