Cardozo is one of the best teams in the city and we came one hit away from beating them. Again, the big hit still eludes us. We left 11 men on base and again did not get an extra base hit. [Adapted from GameChanger] Stuyvesant stayed in it until the end, but Benjamin Cardozo pulled away late in a 7-5 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at five with Cardozo batting in the top of the seventh when Pena homered on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs. Stuyvesant lost despite out-hitting Cardozo ten to eight. In the first inning, Cardozo got their offense started. Angeles singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. The Peglegs knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the sixth inning. Stuyvesant scored two runs when Malcolm Hubbell doubled. Hart toed the rubber forCardozo. He allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine. Jared Asch was on the hill for Stuyvesant . He surrendered five runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Jeremy Rubin and Matthew Deutsch entered the game as relief, throwing one inning each. Stuyvesant ad ten hits in the game. Rubin, Hubbell, Asch, and Franklin Liou each racked up multiple hits. Benjamin Cardozo racked up eight hits in the game. Angeles, Peguero, Zavala, and Pena each had multiple hits.
